Sumo is a traditional Japanese sport dating back to the 17th Century. The object is to either wrestle your opponent down to the ground, or out of the circular clay ring surrounded by straw rope. A variety of techniques can be employed, and only kicking, eye-gouging, and hair pulling aren't permitted. Today, Sumo has gained much popularity, as foreign wrestlers from America, Europe and Mongolia compete at the highest level.
